Terms of Service

Last updated: August 9, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AudioThings.net, including its audio calculators, file converters, tool pages, downloads, and other features (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

AudioThings.net provides general-purpose audio information and browser-based tools. Results are estimates and may be affected by your inputs, browser, device, file format, rounding, assumptions, software defects, and other factors. The Service is not engineering, medical, hearing-safety, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

2. Use at your own risk

You are solely responsible for deciding whether a result is suitable for your purpose and for independently checking important calculations and converted files. Before changing equipment, signal levels, timing, storage, sessions, or production files, verify the result using an appropriate second method and keep a separate backup.

Audio can damage hearing and equipment. Use appropriate monitoring levels, limiters, protective equipment, professional guidance, and manufacturer instructions. Never rely on the Service as a safety system or for any safety-critical, medical, live-show, broadcast, emergency, or high-value production decision.

3. File tools

Where a tool states that processing occurs in your browser, the AudioThings Tools plugin is designed to process the selected file locally and not upload its contents to AudioThings.net. Browser or third-party software behaviour may differ. You must have the right to use every file you select. File conversion can fail, alter quality or metadata, produce an unusable file, or consume significant device memory. Keep the original file and check the output before relying on it.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only lawfully and for its intended purpose. You must not attempt to disrupt or overload the website, bypass security or access controls, introduce malicious code, scrape the Service in a manner that harms availability, misrepresent generated results, or use the Service to infringe another person’s rights.

5. Intellectual property

The Service’s original design, text, code, branding, and other content are owned by or licensed to the operator of AudioThings.net and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. Rights in files that you process remain with their respective owners.

6. Advertising, support links, and third parties

The Service may display advertising, including Google AdSense, and may link to Buy Me a Coffee or other third-party services. Advertising does not constitute an endorsement. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and AudioThings.net is not responsible for their content, availability, products, transactions, or conduct.

7. No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, compatible with your device, or free from errors or harmful components, or that converted files will meet your requirements.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of AudioThings.net and its contributors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost revenue, profit, data, files, opportunities, goodwill, hearing, equipment, or production time, arising from or connected with the Service or your reliance on it, even if advised that such loss was possible.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. If a court finds liability that may legally be limited, our total liability relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service during the preceding twelve months or EUR 10.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service and may update these Terms. The date above shows the latest revision. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Sweden will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere or requires another law or forum.

11. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to meh@audiothings.net. Before publishing this page, the site operator should add their full legal name or company name, postal address, and organisation number where applicable.
